A Physician Assistant in Illinois is someone who is not a physician nor a person holding an M.D. or a similar degree. However, a Physician Assistant is someone who has been certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or a similar agency. The Physician Assistant performs procedures under the supervision of a physician as defined in the Physician’s Assistant Practice Act. This position is in the field of health care, the ability to work with others and patients is crucial.
Some of the requirements someone needs in order to become a Pysical Assistant is education you must graduate from an approved program which will be listed later and be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. You must also take and perform a written and hands on examination. You must also obtain a license.
